چکیده
This study investigates the relative role of land surface schemes (LSS) in Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model, Version 4, to simulate heat wave events Karachi, Pakistan during 16–23 May 2018. The efficiency WRF model was evaluated forecasting over Karachi using three different LSS, namely NOAH, NOAH-MP, RUC. In addition this we have used longwave (RRTM) shortwave (Dudhia) all schemes. Three simulating setups were designed with a combination shortwave, longwave, LSS: E1 (Dudhia, RRTM, Noah), E2 Noah-MP), E3 RUC). All carried out finer resolution 1 km × km. Findings current depicted that produces more realistic simulation daily maximum temperature T(max) at 2 m, sensible (SH), latent (LH) because it has higher R2 lower errors (BIAS, RMSE, MAE) compared other Consequently, Noah-MP accurately estimates fluxes (SH&LH) uses multiple physics options for atmosphere interaction processes. According statistical analyses, setup outperforms term (LH&SH) Nash-Sutcliffe (NSE) agreement is 0.84 (0.89). research emphasizes selection LSS vital importance best SH Karachi. Further, resulted flux taking part trigger event intensity 2018 due dense urban canopy less vegetated area. El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) played prolong strengthen period by effecting Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) through walker circulation extension.

Comparison of Thunderstorm Simulations from WRF-NMM and WRF-ARW Models over East Indian Region
The thunderstorms are typical mesoscale systems dominated by intense convection. Mesoscale models are essential for the accurate prediction of such high-impact weather events. In the present study, an attempt has been made to compare the simulated results of three thunderstorm events using NMM and ARW model core of WRF system and validated the model results with observations. Both models perfor...

Here we analyze the impact of four planetary boundary-layer (PBL) parametrization schemes from the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) numerical weather prediction model on simulations of meteorological variables and predicted pollutant concentrations from an air quality forecast system (AQFS). The current setup of the Spanish operational AQFS, CALIOPE, is composed of the WRF-ARW V3.5.1 mete...

The BSC-CNS is involved in the CALIOPE project (Baldasano et al., 2008), a national Spanish initiative that has as main objective to establish an air quality forecasting system for Spain coordinated by the Ministry of the Environment. The modeling system bases on the WRF-ARW model as meteorological driver (Figure 1). As is well known, air quality models are highly dependent on the quality of th...
